After interviewing several other potential contractors to fabricate a new gate for our driveway, we selected Stephen because he seemed to “get it”. We did not want a gate that was merely functional – we wanted one that was stylish, elegant and classic. Stephen looked at various designs of other gates at similar houses and helped identify those characteristics that made some gates better than others. Then he began to make suggestions that would work for us. With Stephens help, we agreed on a design and Stephen quoted us a price that was better than fair! In fact, the design we worked out with Stephen was a better design than any other options we discussed with other contractors and yet remained the second lowest price out of five options! Stephen began the work exactly when he said he would and finished when he said he would. But the real value Stephen added to our project was how he discussed with us how the project was progressing and made several suggestions to improve the gate as it began to take shape. Stephen considered our desire to have an elegant gate that was functional and provided privacy and suggested that we might want to consider adding 2 small add-on panels to increase our privacy and to improve the overall look of the gate at no additional charge! The end result is that we have a better than expected gate and all our neighbors have commented on it – some that we never met actually stopped by to mention how nice our new gate looked. Our neighbor across the street immediately asked for Stephen’s name and hired him 2 weeks later to rebuild their gates.

I thought when I started working with a well known metal person I was on the way to having everything I needed done in a timely and cost effective manner. Well, we all hear about those horror stories and my experience with this person was no exception. I passed out deposits like I was at the casino, then I waited and waited for the goods, even a return phone call was impossible. All of a sudden aside from feeling violated from paying monies and being disrespected by the courtesy of a return call, the fun of my home remodeling project and the pressure of completing my in home art gallery was going down the drain. When you cannot wake up in the morning and be happy about what you are doing, things become gloomy, even if it is a metal door or whatever.

Stephen, you saved my day in so many ways. You showed up on the first interview as promised, on time and with an attitude that made just talking to you a pleasure. Every commitment you made, you lived up to. Upon your first assignment for me, you were able to decipher my needs and make suggestions that, based on your viewpoint and creative eye, worked better than I envisioned it. When I first offered you a deposit on the work you were doing in the first phase, you were not interested in any exchange of monies... try to find that sort of business behavior any where else. It was comforting and it immediately showed your trust in me and what you were going to do for me professionally.

And when I handed you more projects to do, again everything went like clockwork and was completed and delivered on time and looking incredible. You may recall, you arrived with no bill for the work you did do... I insisted I pay you; however again, this was not so important to you.

I can’t imagine you do that with every one of your customers, your personality and pleasant way of working together combined with a track record that goes hand and hand with what you promise, combined with the quality of work you do, clearly separates you from most trades people and has what started out being a nightmare with the other craftsman (if you can call him that) into a delight.
